Learn about updates to Flood Factor and the First Street Foundation Flood Model.
The First Street Foundation is continuously working to refine its flood model methodology and incorporate new information into Flood Factor. A Flood Factor is based on a model designed to approximate risk and is not intended as a precise estimate. The Flood Model incorporates the latest in peer reviewed science and research to ensure we take into account the most up to date and comprehensive science in determining a Flood Factor for specific properties. As such, Flood Factors can change to reflect future data we may receive. Flood Factor is updated quarterly, while the Flood Model is updated annually.
